The LIU Lightpipe muti-mode converter is a sophisticated transmission device used to send and receive data over long distances via optical cable. Specifically designed to work in conjunction with the Dallas Delta Fibre Optic Line Isolation Unit.
It converts a plastic fibre optical signal to a glass fibre optical signal, Enabling extremely long lengths of up to 2.7km of glass fibre to be run in a secure manner. Valuable telecommunication assets such as telephones, data modems, fax machines and computers are safe from damage due to high voltage surges on the line caused by lightning strikes.
Glass fibre is tamper-proof so it provides a very high level of protection from bugging such as tapping in on the line.
